POSITION SUMMARY:        

 

This position requires assisting the Merchandising Director with implementation of model home merchandising.  The position requires an ability to manage direct reports, be multi-task oriented, self-sufficient, dependable, ability to cope under pressure, maintain good judgement, eager to learn and have a professional, supportive attitude.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage Regional Team of Interior Designers and Design Assistants
  • Manage daily team tasks and deadlines
  • Work with Divisions to collect project assets
  • Work with Division Marketing contacts on model development and approvals
  • Oversee full life cycle of model home projects from conception to installation
  • Attend Design Presentation meetings, frame walks and final model walks
  • Manage the purchasing efforts for all In-House Model furniture
  • Oversee project budgets and maintain a current inventory of Model Furniture
  • Assist Merchandising Director on special design projects as necessary
  • Oversee delivery and installation of Model Furniture
  • Coordinate vendor invoices for processing and payment with accounting departments
  • Work with the field and division associates for model move overs
  • Attend model installations as necessary

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Minimum two (2) years of Interior Design background required
  • Must possess initiative and be highly motivated
  • Bachelor of Arts degree preferred
  • Proficient in CAD, Photoshop, In-Design, Excel, Word and PowerPoint on Macintosh platform
  • Experience in managing direct reports preferred
  • Experience in purchasing and/or accounting preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task at a fast pace
  • Budget management experience
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality relative to daily work schedule is required
  • Strong work ethic, good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Copes well under pressure and can accept constructive feedback
  • California Motor Vehicle License – unrestricted. Moderate Regional travel (including overnight trips and flights) may be required

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Position requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less.  Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.
